The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is Samsung’s January 2025 flagship starting at $1,299 for 12GB/256GB. Every unit worldwide uses Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy with no Exynos variant. It brings a 6.9-inch QHD+ anti-reflective AMOLED display, 200MP main plus new 50MP ultrawide and 50MP 5x periscope cameras, 5000mAh battery with 45W PPS charging, One UI 7 on Android 15, and 7 years of updates until 2032 with a built-in S Pen.
Price, Release Date and Availability
The Galaxy S25 Ultra was announced at Galaxy Unpacked on January 22, 2025 and went on sale February 7. Samsung held US pricing flat year-over-year.
In the US it is $1,299 for 256GB, $1,419 for 512GB and $1,659 for 1TB. RAM is 12GB across the board, so you are only choosing storage.
Price in USA, UK, India, Pakistan, UAE
UK starts at £1,249, India at Rs. 129,999, UAE from AED 5,399. In Pakistan, a PTA-approved 12/256GB unit is trading between Rs. 430,000 and Rs. 465,000 depending on color and stock. Non-PTA or CPID patched units are cheaper but will lose network after a few months. If you are buying locally, insist on seeing PTA approval on the box and verify both IMEIs on DIRBS before you pay.
Colors at launch include Titanium Silverblue, Titanium Black, Titanium Whitesilver and Titanium Gray, with Jetblack and Jadegreen as Samsung.com exclusives.
Which Storage Variant Should You Buy?
The 512GB is the sensible pick for most buyers. There is no RAM bump on 1TB, and 256GB fills quicker than expected once you shoot 4K 60fps and 200MP. Samsung typically offers double storage free during pre-orders, which makes 512GB the value play. Only get 1TB if you shoot a lot of 8K or keep your entire Lightroom library offline.
Specifications at a Glance
The S25 Ultra refines the Ultra formula. 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X with LTPO 1-120Hz and up to 2600 nits, powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, 12GB LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0. Camera system is 200MP main, 50MP ultrawide with autofocus, 50MP 5x periscope and 10MP 3x telephoto. Battery is 5000mAh with 45W wired PPS and 15W wireless. Software is One UI 7 based on Android 15 with 7 years of OS and security updates. Titanium frame, Gorilla Armor 2 front, IP68 and built-in S Pen.
Design and Build Quality
The S25 Ultra is finally comfortable to hold. Samsung kept the Ultra silhouette but softened the corners slightly and flattened the sides. The sharp edge that dug into your palm on the S24 Ultra is gone. At 218 grams it is a few grams lighter than last year, which you feel on long calls.

Build quality is excellent. The titanium frame has tighter tolerances and the buttons have less wobble. According to Corning, Gorilla Armor 2 improves anti-reflection and scratch resistance over the first generation. In use, the difference is not subtle. A cheap tempered glass protector completely kills the anti-reflective benefit, so use a quality anti-reflective film if you need protection.
Display – Is the Anti-Reflective Screen a Real Upgrade?
The Galaxy S25 Ultra display is a meaningful everyday upgrade. It has the same 6.9-inch QHD+ resolution and 2600 nits peak as last year, but the new Gorilla Armor 2 coating cuts reflections by up to 75% compared to standard glass.
We tested it outdoors in Bahawalpur at 42°C and under harsh office tube lights. You can stay at 60-70% brightness where the S24 Ultra needed 90-100%. You see content, not your own reflection. Vivid mode still has that Samsung pop but skin tones are no longer orange, and Natural mode is now accurate enough for light photo editing. LTPO switching from 120Hz down to 1Hz for always-on is invisible with no flicker.
Performance and Gaming – Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy
The Galaxy S25 Ultra uses Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy in every country. Samsung confirmed at Galaxy Unpacked there is no Exynos version for Ultra, which ends years of regional confusion.
According to Qualcomm, the chip is built on 3nm with a custom overclocked prime core for Galaxy devices. In daily use One UI 7 feels faster than 6.1 ever did. Apps stay in memory longer, DeX launches quicker, and animations are consistent even with 20 Chrome tabs open.
Gaming is strong. Genshin Impact at max 60fps holds 58-60fps for about 25 minutes before it steps down gently to manage heat. COD Mobile at 120fps is stable. The phone gets warm around the camera island but not uncomfortable. Keep the performance profile on Standard for daily use and switch to Performance only for gaming to save battery. Expect extra heat for the first two days after setup while it indexes and restores – that’s normal.
One UI 7 and Galaxy AI – Features That Actually Matter
One UI 7 is the biggest visual change in years. Icons are cleaner, animations are smoother, and the quick settings panel is now separate and fully customizable.
Galaxy AI is more integrated and less gimmicky now. Circle to Search is faster and can identify music playing around you. Live Translate works on regular phone calls and translates both sides in real time. In Samsung Notes, messy handwritten notes can be formatted into clean text and turned into mind maps. Browsing Assist summarizes long articles inside Samsung Internet.
Some AI features need internet and a Samsung account, like Live Translate and Chat Assist. Others like Photo Assist, instant slow-mo and voice recorder transcription can run on-device. Go to Settings > Galaxy AI > Advanced intelligence settings to see what runs on-device. Turn off what you don’t use – it reduces clutter and helps battery.
Camera System Tested – 200MP, 50MP Ultrawide and 5x Periscope
Samsung fixed the weakest lens. The ultrawide jumps from 12MP to 50MP with autofocus. That means detailed landscapes and proper macro shots with real texture instead of soft, upscaled images.
The 200MP main still bins to 12MP by default. Leave it there. 12MP gives you the best balance of detail, low light and file size. Use 200MP only in bright daylight when you know you will crop heavily. The 50MP 5x periscope is carried over and excellent, and the 10MP 3x remains ideal for portraits with natural bokeh.
Daylight and Low-Light Photo Quality
Daylight photos are more natural this year. Samsung dialed back the aggressive HDR and over-sharpening. Skies don’t look radioactive blue and foliage doesn’t glow. In low light, noise control is better and Night Mode is faster at around 1.5 seconds without turning night into day. Indoor skin texture is preserved instead of being smoothed into wax.
Zoom Quality from 5x to 100x
At 5x you get true optical quality you can print. At 10x, using in-sensor zoom, quality remains excellent for social. At 30x you can read distant shop signs and it holds up. 100x is for spotting, not keeping. Stabilization at high zoom is much improved – you can handhold at 30x without chasing the viewfinder.
Video Recording
Video is more consistent across lenses. All lenses now shoot 8K 30fps and 4K 120fps, so slow motion is clean even on ultrawide. Super Steady remains 1440p but feels gimbal-like at 4K 60fps. Pro Video now offers a log profile that gives you a flat file to color grade later. Wind noise reduction is better and voices stay clear outdoors.
Avoid shooting everything in 8K. It fills storage in a day and heats the phone quickly. For most people 4K 60fps is the sweet spot.
Battery Life and Charging Speed
Battery capacity is still 5000mAh but real-world endurance is better. The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is more efficient. On QHD+ 120Hz with mixed 5G, camera, Maps and YouTube, we averaged 7.5 to 8.5 hours screen-on time. That’s about an hour more than S24 Ultra in the same routine. Switch to FHD+ and you can push close to 9 hours.
Charging is 45W wired PPS, 15W wireless. Zero to 65% takes about 30 minutes, full charge just under an hour. No charger in the box, only a USB-C cable. To actually get 45W you need a PPS-compatible adapter. Many older 45W bricks without PPS cap at 25W. Samsung’s official 45W PPS or a good Anker PPS charger hits full speed.
If battery drains fast, check Settings > Battery > Background usage limits and put unused apps to deep sleep. Weak 5G signal also drains faster than 4G.
S Pen – Is It Still Relevant in 2025?
The S Pen is what makes Ultra different from Plus. If you take notes, sketch or sign PDFs daily, there is no replacement. Latency is down to about 2.8ms, so it feels like pen on paper. Screen-off memo, hover translate and precise video timeline scrubbing are genuinely useful.
If you never used it on older Ultras, you probably won’t start now. For students, architects and business users, it’s still irreplaceable. One UI 7 also improves handwriting-to-text accuracy, even with mixed English and Urdu notes.
How We Tested
We tested a retail Galaxy S25 Ultra 12GB/512GB in Titanium Silverblue on One UI 7.0 Build AYXJ, Android 15, for 14 days as primary device in Pakistan on 5G. Tests included outdoor display visibility at 42°C, camera tests in daylight and low light, battery on QHD+ 120Hz, and extended Genshin Impact and COD Mobile sessions. This unit was not provided by Samsung. Last updated July 30, 2026.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs S24 Ultra – Should You Upgrade?

You should skip this generation if you own an S24 Ultra. The real differences are the anti-reflective display, new 50MP ultrawide, slightly better battery and global Snapdragon. Most Galaxy AI features will come to S24 Ultra via update.
You should upgrade if you have S23 Ultra or older. You get a more comfortable design, a display you can see outdoors, significantly faster chip, cleaner low-light photos and seven years of support until 2032 versus four years on S23 Ultra. The jump feels like a proper generation.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs iPhone 16 Pro Max
This comes down to ecosystem versus versatility. The S25 Ultra offers more zoom flexibility with both 3x and 5x optical, S Pen productivity, DeX desktop mode, more customization and that anti-reflective display. The iPhone 16 Pro Max offers more consistent video color straight out of camera, some creative apps still optimized first for iOS, and stronger resale in certain markets.
For zoom, outdoor display use and multitasking, S25 Ultra leads. For point-and-shoot video you don’t want to edit and if you live on MacBook and iPad, iPhone makes more sense. Both will last years.
Pros and Cons
The strengths are the outdoor-readable anti-reflective display, versatile camera system with a truly useful new ultrawide, worldwide Snapdragon performance and seven years of OS updates.
The downsides are that 45W charging feels slow next to 80W to 100W rivals, the phone is large and heavy for one-handed use, and 100x zoom remains a demo feature. The price is also very high.
Final Verdict – Who Should Buy the Galaxy S25 Ultra?
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is for people who want one phone that does everything without compromise. It is ideal for power users, mobile photographers who need real 3x and 5x, students and professionals who write and sketch, and buyers who want to keep their phone for five years or more.
It is not for compact phone fans or fastest-charging chasers. If you own S24 Ultra, save your money. If you are on S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra or switching from iPhone and want the most complete Android flagship right now, the S25 Ultra is worth the investment. Try to get the 512GB at launch offer pricing.
Final Summary
The S25 Ultra perfects the Ultra formula instead of reinventing it. Samsung fixed what mattered – reflections, regional chip confusion and the weakest camera lens – and kept what works. With better efficiency, excellent cameras and seven years of updates, it is the most complete ultra-premium Android phone of 2025. Large and expensive, but if you want the best Samsung makes, this is it.
